CCBA Health Savings Card
Understanding the Program
Prescriptions filled using your card will receive the lowest of the following:
- The AverageWholesale Price (AWP) minus 13%.
(This pricing usually applies to name brand and/or specialty drugs, which generally have only one manufacturer.)
- The Maximum Allowable Cost(MAC Pricing).
This formula applies to the majority of medications - discounts average 30-50% off regular prices.
- The pharmacy’s special saleprice.
Pharmacies, from time to time, will run specials/sales in orderto compete with other pharmacies in the area. In this rare situation, these particular medications may receive a small and/or no discount that particular day. However, your card guarantees that you will receive the lowest possible price for that prescription. (This is common among birth control pills, certain high blood pressure medications and adult female hormones.)
